What better way to use your membership then
by getting involved. If you want to meet new people and
represent your company, consider sitting on a committee.
Listed below are three committees that ISES Indiana has
to offer and the time commitment that is required. If something
sparks your interest contact ISES Indiana and let the good
times begin. There will be more information to come in
the following months on other committees.
Membership
Committee:
The
Membership Committee has the task of making sure our
membership is informed and new members are welcome. We
are looking for committee members to help
greet guests as they enter meetings, conduct new member
orientations
and help recruit/maintain our membership.
Time commitment could be as simple as greeting guests for
a half hour before meetings to attending bi-monthly committee
meetings.
Please
contact Kari Strolberg, CSEP at 423-3590 if you would
like to join this committee.
PACE
Committee:
The next committee meeting will be held on Tuesday,
November 16, 2004 at the Gene B Glick Junior Achievement,
7435 North Keystone Ave, at 5:00 pm. As a
committee member (approximate time commitment of 8-12 hours total) we will
meet 4 - 6 times over the next 4 months to put together this GREAT event.
We are looking for people with a variety of talents
so please join.
Please contact Casey Scott, casey.scott@hoaglinfinecatering.com,
if you would like to join this committee
Communications Committee:
This committee will meet once a month to review information for the newsletter.
Committee positions available are as follows:
- Press Releases
- Member Spotlight Section
- Monthly Meeting Recap
- The Scoop
Please contact Jason Felders, jfelders@indianahistory.org,
if you would like to sit on this committee.
New Member Orientation:
There will be a new member orientation prior to the November 18th meeting. The
orientation will begin at 11:00 am. If you are interested in attending this
orientation please contact Kari Strolberg, CSEP at 423-3590.

ISES Membership Drive:
Starting on December 1st the ISES International Membership
Development Committee (MDC) will begin a month long membership
drive. The MDC has secured a fabulous prize for the person
who sponsors the most new members in the month of December.
The prize you ask, well, it is a complimentary education
package for ISES Eventworld 2005 in Los Angeles!
Here’s
how it works: Any new member who joins ONLINE (www.ises.com)
from December 1, 2004 through December 31,
2004 is exempt from the $50 application fee! Members who
join during the Membership Drive will pay the prorated
dues amount of $199.00 and receive seven months of ISES
membership. If you think about it, that is a savings of
almost $250!
The application process is easy. Starting December 1,
simply tell your prospective members to go to www.ises.com and click on the Join Today! link. Be sure to tell your
colleagues and clients to enter your name in the sponsor
box on the online application so that you are eligible
for this great prize. Good luck and happy recruiting.
If
you have any questions please contact Kari Strolberg,
CSEP at 423-3590.

Member Spotlight
A-Classic Party Rental Company opened its doors in 1989.
The philosophy at A Classic is to provide Indianapolis
and surrounding communities with a one-stop shop for party
and special occasion goods. The founders of A Classic believed
that people wanted to use the best silver, china, linens
and props for their once-in-a-lifetime events but did not
want to purchase these items. Thus, A Classic was born.
Today in our 30,000 square foot retail building, A Classic
has everything imaginable for truly memorable weddings,
reunions, banquets, meetings, bar mitzvahs, or any other
type gathering that necessitates first class equipment
and first rate service.
A Classic has gathered the finest team of professionals
to make any occasion special. From the customer service
representatives that assist with event planning, to the
crews that cheerfully and conscientiously deliver and assemble
equipment and other items.
Being
Indy’s largest party rental company not only
means that we are making a lot of people happy and continue
to grow, but also that we enjoy economies of scale when
dealing with our distributors and that we are able to pass
those savings on to our customers.
Whether
your event is a dinner party for twenty of your dearest
friends, a corporate shareholder's meeting with
hors d’oeuvres and “refreshments”, or
a once-in-a-lifetime wedding with a thousand guests---A
Classic is ready, able and here to serve your every need.

Board
Member Spotlight
Jennifer Osborne, Treasurer
Jennifer
has been with ISES Indiana for more than 6 years and is currently
serving on the Board of Directors as
the Treasurer. She has served on the board for the
past two years as the Communication Director, worked on
the PACE Committee, the Education Committee with the REC
and lends a hand in several other opportunities that
arise to help out the organization. Being a part of
the
organization has introduced her to new contacts that
she would not have gotten without ISES.
Outside of her ISES involvement, Jennifer works for
SYSCO Food Services of Indianapolis, LLC. SYSCO
is an International
Food Distributor for the Food Service Industry, based
in Houston, TX. Jennifer is the Marketing Manager
for the
Indianapolis Operating Company. At this 450 employee
large Operating Company, she manages the personnel
in the Marketing
Department, creates and maintains the company Sales
Promotions, manages the profit and loss for the
Department, and creates
and directs more than 30 events a year for SYSCO. SYSCO
is on the client and the supplier side in relation
to ISES. Several of SYSCO's clients are part of
ISES and several
of the suppliers in the organization help create the
SYSCO events. This is why ISES is so rewarding
for Jennifer and
SYSCO.
Jennifer's position at SYSCO allows her to work with
every aspect of the organization from Sales to Warehouse
Operations.
As with the rest of us in ISES, Jennifer is never
bored! She presents product showcases (food trade
shows),
company picnics, awards banquets, golf outings, sales
meetings
and customer visitations. She is always challenging
the company to open their eyes to new creative ideas
that keep
the customer excited about the organization.
The past 2 1/2 years Jennifer spent time getting
her Masters in Business Administration with an
emphasis in Marketing
from the University of Indianapolis. Now she can
concentrate
on a few hobbies that she has been missing out
on. She loves to draw/paint, dance and do any athletic
activity
to keep her on the move. Her kids are a 5-year-old
Doberman (Madeline) and a 2-year-old Rottweiller/Shepherd
mix puppy
(Cole). She likes to run with the big dogs!

Community
Outreach
Several
Organizations have submitted RFP’s for the
annual Community Outreach program. Indiana Black Expo,
Second Helpings, Villages - Child Welfare and Prevent Blindness
Indiana are just a few that we are currently reviewing.
We are still receiving calls from interested organizations
that are currently working on their proposals. With the
high response rate the deadline for proposals has been
moved to November 30, 2004 to give organizations more time
to get their information gathered.
The announcement of partnership will be at the December
joint meeting with MPI and ISES.
If you have any questions please contact Kyle Buckley
at kyle.buckley@hoaglinfinecatering.com.
